Membership
By networking with other members of the Illinois Crime Prevention Association you may save your department hours of research time. Someone in the ICPA may have just the right program you are looking for. With just a few minor modifications it can be ideal for your community. With our newly started program database and your computer, your crime prevention unit is off and running!
There are two classes of membership. An active member is any person who is actively involved in crime prevention or a related field. Honorary membership can be conferred on any person who has done outstanding service in crime prevention for the ICPA.
General Information
The ICPA hold three general meetings a year on the fourth Wednesday of the months of February, June and October. The meetings commence at 9:00 a.m. and adjourn at 1:00 p.m.. They are a combination of the business meetings and in-service training provided by guest speakers with expertise in the area of crime prevention or security.
Regional meetings are held monthly and are hosted by a member agency. These meetings are several hours in length and are highlighted with a guest speaker and/or an exchange of crime prevention ideas and information.
The ICPA publishes a newsletter, "The Broadcaster", which keeps the members advised of up-to-date changes in crime prevention techniques and allows for exchanges of information and requests for assistance.
